Since the depression, people have learned to live without a lot of products they would have normally used on a regular basis. Maybe one of those products are products that you retail or manufacture. Our company thrives to get your product back in front of the lost clients, new clients, and returning clients.
The steps below are your main focus points that you need to follow, in order to have a successful promotion.
- Figure what your target market is. (Return, Lost, New Clients)
- Find a knowledgeable promotions company to work with.
- Figure out what your budget for the promotion is.
- Kick back and let your promotions company handle the rest.
If you have chose the right promotional company, they should find the right promotional item for your budget and business. Most promotional companies will show you three items. Hats, pens, and shirts. If a promotional company tries to throw a few items in your direction, without making sure it has something to do with your market, walk away!
A good promotional company will take the time to show you many options. They will also show you the benefits of each one of the items. Not just try to make a quick buck and walk away from you. The bottom line of this promotion is to get your name in front of the buyers. Not to get your name printed on a pen, shirt or a hat.
There are too many other promotional products on the market to use the same old routine that has been around since the 60's. Make sure you are shown items that will be used, by those you hand them out to.
The finishing touches
Once you have found a promotional company, and the promotional company has found you the perfect item for your campaign, all that is left is printing. Once your image is set up to your liking, the manufacturer will print your product, and ship it out to your business.
By this time, you should have came up with a way to get your promotional item into your potential clients hands, so you will get maximum exposure from your promotional items. If you have hired the right promotional company for the job, they can assist you even after the sale. For my clients, I want to do everything to get them back to me each time they need or want to run another promotion. Just as you want your clients to return to you for your products.
Your lose of sales may be from your own employees.
Most employees work really hard for your company. They are still people, and have issues outside of the work place as well. You can not do anything for your employee once he or she has left your business for the day, but, you can let him or her know that they are important, and you do appreciate his or her hard work and extra effort.
"Give an employee a check, and they will show up. Give an employee a pat on the back, and they will show up to strive!"Most employees want to know they are appreciated. When an employee feels unappreciated they will show less productivity. A person that is told they are doing a good job is going to be 20% more successful then the employee that feels less appreciated.
I know 20% seems minimal, but consider 20% more productivity times however many employees you have. Now that is a number that is worth shooting for.
We have many different styles of awards, medals, and much much more to show your employee how much you appreciate his or her work efforts, without sending you to the cleaners. This is a proven fact that many business owners never think about, or just smother the issue for a few months with a unnecessary raise.
I hope the information I have shared with you, will help you on your next promotion, and/or employee appreciation campaign. If you need anything, please contact me (mcole@pdofla.com), and I will be more then happy to help.
Thank you,
Michael Cole
